Memorial Day weekend at the lake...

We went to the Lake Martin today with Jon, Clancy, Mary Reagan, & Mr. & Mrs. Hilyer. The kids had a ball. Here is a picture of Cope jumping off the back of the boat. You can see a ton of sailboats in the background. The fires from Alabama and Georgia are causing the air to be slightly smokey, that's why it looks so hazy.

Jon is helping Copeland try on the skis. He really wants to learn so I think we are going to look for some kids skis and teach him.
I love his freckles!! He doesn't...

Ann Welch eating ice, she loves it!!
Copeland swimming in the lake.

Ann Welch did well with her life jacket. I was really surprised, I thought she'd want to rip it off.

David and Ann Welch walking on the "beach".
Poor uncle Jon took the kids out to a rock to play on. The ground was very rough and Cope didn't have his Crocs so Jon had to carry him back. I'm sure that was fun~

The Beach with the Rives...

We just got back from having a wonderful weekend at the beach!! It was seriously beautiful. The kids all had a ball. We went to see Shrek 3 and David and I each saw portions because AW didn't want to cooperate. Even with popcorn and m&m's she wouldn't sit still. She wanted to hike down the stairs. I attempted beach pictures...again... I can't get a good one of my kids. Poor AW and Ford are dealing with the "buck teeth" look right now. Ann Welch only has her top 4 teeth and she likes to stick them out. Ford had all the teeth around his top two pulled, so there you go. It was also too sunny, even at 8:30 in the morning, so we have the "squinty" eye look going on as well.

I wish we were still there. Bobby and Ashley were nice enought to invite us to their georgous beach house for the weekend. Ashley even made me try sushi b/c I'm so boring!! Ann Welch loved the water, but she kept saying,"Ewwwww" when sand stuck to her and she would try and wipe it off. Copeland is my fish. He loves the water!! The kids kept catching minnows and putting them into buckets. Ford loved the wiffle ball games on the beach with the dads, Colby, Caroline, and Copeland.

Multitasking on Mother's Day...

Sunday

We had a busy and fun Mother's Day. After Church we went to Aunt Missy's for a combined celebration of Brack and Copeland's birthdays and Mother's Day. It was super hot so the kids jumped into their swimsuits and played in the water. Missy made delicious cakes for Copeland and Brack. The guys played baseball and Mr. Hilyer even showed us a "thing or two". On our way home we stopped by our friend's home and ended up staying and going to eat. Ann Welch and their little girl Emma had a tea party in the baby pool.
Saturday

After sweaty baseball games on Saturday we headed to the Y for a swim with our friends Grayson and Katie. After 5 minutes the lifeguard heard thunder (whatevah) and we had to get out of the water for 30 minutes. We went to get ice cream (no complaints from the crowd) and returned a little later to swim. So below are a bunch of pictures not in any particular order from this week. I'm still trying to figure out this blog thing and how to organize all my posts.

Mama Sue's ducks...

Moma Sue has some cool ducks, or I should say had. We haven't been able to find them this week, but last week they would eat out of your hand and let you pet them. Of course, Ann Welch was all over that!! Here are two other pictures of Ann Welch wearing Copeland's cowboy boots and one of David, Ford, and Copeland at Copeland's Kindergarten Graduation.
