Santa Claus is SO famous in this house!!

What a wonderful, blessed Christmas we had! Santa came and the kids have been playing NON stop! Ford woke up at 5:30 and I told him that he had to wait until 6:00. That's NUTS!! After we played around with our presents we went to mom and dad's for Christmas lunch. Mom has worked so hard all week in the kitchen. I am NOT a cook, unfortunately for my family. So....I know they enjoyed all of mom's cooking!! We were sad to see Len, Christine, and Will leave today to go back to Nashville. Len and Edward had a ball playing the Wii with Ford and Copie. Ford is VERY competitive, even with his uncles...not sure that's a good thing. :-/

We are heading to the beach this weekend and for the new year. The Rives are so sweet to invite us!!

Here are Copie and David playing Web kins on the 'puter.

Ann Welch is ready for Christmas Dinner and she's drivin'!
AW and Will ring in Christmas Day. My mom LOVES bells and she collects them. She started a new tradition of ringing bells for Jesus' birth. The kids thought that was fabulous...not sure what the neighbors thought!

Christmas Eve with Mimi and Papaw...

We had the pleasure of spending Christmas Eve with David's family. I am so blessed to have such wonderful in-laws! We came out early to Mimi and Papaw's farm so the boys could ride horses, play with the MANY puppies and dogs, and ride the 4 wheeler and the Mule. They were in HOG heaven...who needs Christmas presents anyway when you can play at the farm??

We all buy presents for one another...brothers, sisters, parents, and cousins. It's a big "ta-doo". The kiddos wore their Christmas PJ's b/c we knew they would fall asleep when we got in the car to drive home. They did, but they woke up when we drove up the driveway. We HAD to put out the Reindeer food, ya know!! They also wanted to look on the computer and track Santa...he was in Paris. Ford had a hard time getting to sleep...imagine that! So...David and I are still up at midnight putting together and wrapping. Santa brings 3 gifts each and we bring the rest. Santa's are not wrapped and the one's from mommy and daddy are.

Back to Christmas Eve at David's parents...One of our traditions at the Hilyer's home is that Mr. Hilyer reads Twas the Night Before Christmas to all the kids. It was really comical b/c the kids were joking around during it and Ann Welch kept trying to feed him her candy cane(we must put that away next time).

The boys are getting a Wii from Santa and David is in the Family room "making sure it works correctly". Tomorrow we will head over to my parents for lunch. I'm sure we will be toting several things with us. It's going to be hard to break them away from the Wii I'm sure.

Santa on a firetruck...and the 106 degree fever

This has been a hard week! Ann Welch has been running HIGH fever all week. I took her to the doctor Friday morning and he said she had a "sore throat virus". Her fever has consistently been over 104 degrees and once reached 106. I'm not typically the "freak out" kind of mom. I started feeding her ice chips and she was acting okay, so I wasn't too worried. She is doing better, hopefully she won't run any more fever today.

Yesterday, mom and dad's neighborhood has a tradition where Santa comes down the street and throws candy to all the kids. They seriously get so pumped about this! Mom made a wonderful brunch and friends and neighbors came by. Edward is home and it was so good to see him! Dad played the guitar and we sang Christmas carols(well the one's of us that are cool did). My boys played football in the backyard with David and they kept throwing the football in the pond. Below is a pic of David actually getting into the freezing water and retrieving the ball. I'm sure that was a nice feeling. I love the picture of Will trying to get the grass off his hands, he IS SO CUTE!!!!

Joy Joy Joy!

My precious Nene and Papa Jack are here to visit for the holidays! They are mom's parents. We love them so much! Will, Len and Christine are here too. The kiddos are having so much fun together...

Tis the season for class parties!

Well...the time has rolled around again for all the kids to have their class parties at school. Copeland had his yesterday and Ford's was today. Ann Welch only goes to pre-school one day a week and hers is tomorrow. Can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE their teachers! They are wonderful!
Copeland made this Santa bag to take home all his loot...

Ford at his class party...Notice the Life is Good necklace. It's his favorite. I'm not sure if he is even allowed to wear it to school, he loves that thing!

Christmas Cards...

Okay...so sorry for the picture of a picture. Believe it or not, I don't have a scanner. Katie Cobb designed these cards for me this year. I thought she did a great job. A good many of you already received a card from me, but I thought I'd post it anyway and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!! I'm getting so excited...Edward(my brother) is flying into Nashville from San Diego this Friday and I can't wait to see him!! He along with my sister and her family are all coming down that night. Mom and Dad's neighborhood has Santa throw candy from a firetruck Sat. morning and that is ALWAYS a hit with the kiddos.

I am pretty much done with my shopping, except for my dear husband who can't make up his mind what he wants!! Guess he'll be getting a lump of coal in his stocking for not deciding soon enough...J/K. I ordered new bedding last night from him. I am one of those crazy folks who gets tired of her bedding with the beginning of each year. I need to pick up a few more stocking stuffers and I'm done done done! We are going to try and take in the zoo lights this week as well. I have Copeland's Christmas party at school today and Ford's tomorrow. Look for lots of new pictures this week as I will be snappin' like crazy!! :-)

Oh, Leah and Kristy...the cookie swap was fab! David actually helped me make my cookies. He liked doing the fun part (the ingredients and mixing) and then...off to watch football while I rolled and baked. I made Peppermint Bark cookies, we LOVE some PB in this house!
