Afternoon wheels...

Even though the sweat was dripping, I was determined to get some pictures of the kids playing outside today. Ann Welch is getting really good at riding her tricycle...I'm almost second guessing asking Santa for the Barbie Jeep now...well maybe not! The boys got much needed hair cuts today. Fords got butchered a little in the front, probably no one else would notice, but I'm a little picky about their hair.(really ??)

After we left Kirk the barber's shop, I saw something rectangle, expensive, and white fly through the air as it bounced off my windshield. I watched in slow motion Ford's Nintendo DS gameboy land on the median in the middle of a MAJOR ROAD. So what does a mom do(after yelling at her kids that is...) She makes a u-turn, puts on the flashers, and retrieves the DS. The game had popped out and was in the middle of the road so here I am waving at folks in my wedge sandals praying I don't trip. Copeland is the guilty one who left it on my car. He's thanking his lucky stars that is still works...

This week has been a struggle for me. The natives are restless. It's time for school to start...As much as I will miss them, I will be glad for all of us to get back into our routine. I'm also ready for some cooler weather, but that's a LONG way off.

Orthodontics...and warts...

Well, we have officially entered the "pre teen" stage at 8 1/2. Not really, but my first born got a retainer today. He looks so cute if you ask me. It is bothering him a bit and I think David is going to take him to get a milkshake after church. He was a trooper about it, though. Copeland also had his first Orthodontic appt. today. We aren't going to do anything for a little while, but his x-rays confirm his mouth is a doozy. Poor Copie, his teeth are coming out at a snails pace. He literally has nubs for his front two teeth now. He wiggles every day... Seriously he told me last week, "mom..all I want for Christmas this year is Rock band for the Wii and my front two teeth to come out." Maybe we could re-write the song!! I hope the pocket book will hold up for school and braces!!
:-)

I heard Ford outside asking a friend today, "James, do you have warts?". James replied, "uh no." Ford said, "I have one on my foot and duck tape will get rid of it...just in case you ever have one and you need to know."

Dear YMCA pool,
Thanks for giving my boys warts this summer.
They are now covered in duct tape.
Sincerely,
a very sticky mutha...

Auburn Water park...

I had to edit this several times b/c of my horrible typing/spelling skills...
Yesterday, we took the short trek to Auburn and visited their "water park". The fellowship and company were wonderful! I love to see my children with their pals. Our sweet neighbor went with us at the last minute and the boys just LOVE Dylan...he's so old...he's 10!! Anyway, I was a tad disappointed in the actual park, it needs some serious attention! Did the kids care? nope. Did the moms care? yep. The wave pool was where we spent a good bit of time and the bottom was slimy like the lake. I just couldn't get over that...

Most of the pics I got are of the girls, b/c the boys were on the "big stuff". The lazy river was a hit too!

I hope Melisssa doesn't mind me posting this pic, she looks great so she shouldn't!! I just thought it was too cute to not post!!

God will help us!

Ann Welch came to me this morning looking for her baseball glove and ball. To tell you the truth, who knows where it could be!!
She said, "God will help us find it."
Then she said, "mommy, sing that song about God."
"which song?" I asked
"THAT song." she repeated.
okay...THAT song,
will do...

Lake Martin...

So all us Hilyers love Lake Martin. Yesterday, we decided we were going to meet with the cuz'z and spend the afternoon there. We didn't do any dare devilish things today, we just found a beach and swam. What a fun day it was!! Our kids just adore each other and we are all so blessed to have one another...

What a beaut!! Mary Reagan. :-)

Poor Uncle Jon and David...they spend a good bit of time throwing Copeland in the air.
