Make new friends...but keep the old...

We had a wonderful first week of mother's day out for AW. She is making new friends and tonight she wanted to pray for her new friends and her old friends. I started the prayer by praying for her to one day find a Christian husband who would love God and her and be good to her. She stopped me right there and said, "mommy, if I marry Judson, he will be nice to me." Then she had the longest, sweetest prayer of her little 2.75 years and I wish I had a tape recorder sitting next to me.

Also, this week, I caught her with a silver sharpie. She had just gotten through "painting" her toenails with the sharpie. Later, I found more sharpie artwork in her room... That is the SAME sharpie that ruined one of our dresses. It found it's way into the trash can pretty quickly.

MDO

Ann Welch had her first day of mother's day out today. She had a great time but she misses her good buds, Judson and Emma who are in a different class. As you know, Judson is her future husband. We went to Chappy's to lunch with Emma after school so at least they got to spend some time together.

In the last picture, you can see where she cut her bangs a few months ago. It is taking them FOR-EV-ER to grow out. In fact, I don't think they are growing at all!! On the subject of hair, after lunch we had a hair trim with Mrs. LayLa.

They boys are enjoying school as well. I am having a hard time with afternoon time management. Homework, sports, play-outside-time, clean up time...how do you work it all in??

I am super ready for Fall weather and Fall clothes! Anyone else??

around the house...

This is how I found AW earlier this week. The girl is ready to swim in the freezing cold... :-)
Ford had to read a book about Chocolate this week. One day he came home from school looking like this. His teacher(who is obviously fun) let them decorate their bodies with washable brown markers. They looked like chocolate. He LOVED this!! Oh, they joys of 3rd grade...

Copie had a good 2nd week of school. We cut our TV time down to 1/2 hour a day on school days. Here he is during his 1/2 hour... that's the best I could get out of him for a quick snap.

little treasures...

Click on the collage to make it bigger...

Last week Ann Welch decided to "clean" my laptop(which by the way, was purchased this past Jan). She cleaned it "real good" with fruit/veggie cleaner. She cleaned it so good, it died a slow, painful death. Actually, I am going to send it off to see if we can retrieve pics, itunes songs, emails, etc. I'm so mad that I didn't back any of it up!! I have most of my favorite pics uploaded to Snapfish or developed though.

I said all that to say...I've been revamping our grandma desktop. It is slower than Christmas, but it has my old pictures on it. I didn't start this blog until a year and a half ago, so here are some pics before that. These make me so sad...I want my kids to stop growing up so fast!!

Yes, we have messy hair, and yes we aren't fully clothed...

How come the best pics I get are messy headed half/nekked kiddos. We are about to head out the door to pick up the boys from school. I heard AW with the phone saying,"hey bubbas we are on our way to pick you up from school, okay?" She wanted to call them.

back to school...

Today my boys left me to go back to school. I promise this was the shortest Summer Vaca EV-ER!! I actually teared up during my morning workout at the Y. We didn't have the best morning and I hate to leave them that way!!
Here's the synopsis:
Got up at 6:45(NOT early enough)
Handed them new Uniforms...
Copeland put on an old uniform with out asking me and then lied to me about it....so I was NOT happy. It was an old polo from last year he found somewhere. It had a hole in it and stains on the shirt. It should be in the trash.
One of their belts broke.
I REALLY wanted to get some good pictures and as you can see below, I DID NOT.
So...we get in the car by 7:30 and I realize I have no keys.
I call David to come home and bring me a key to get into the house.
He gets here about 7:50ish to save the day.
We get to school at 8:05. I spent the first 5 min. of the car ride(weaving in and out of traffic trying not to be TOO late) with me getting onto Copeland for lying and not putting on the right clothes.
The next 5 minutes were spent with me talking to my sister-in-laws about the first drop off their little girls.
The last few minutes we had time for a short prayer that Ford led. We prayed for them to have a good first day and we prayed for their teachers.
I literally peeled into ACA on two wheels at 8:05.
Carpool line was over...darn.
I ran into the office and asked Julie if they needed a tardy slip(on the first day of school).
She told me to just walk them to class.
I turned around and didn't see AW behind me and I opened the door on her toe. Screams were heard all over the school.
I told the boys to hurry to class but I couldn't walk them there b/c of the loud screams of pain.
Our school counselor gave me the "look". I'm not sure if it was, "I can't believe you can't be on time the first day of school," or "please quiet your child".
Coupled with the anxiety I have of being late and AW being hurt....I wanted to scream too!!

Here they are last year...

The Crushers...

He are my three guys in their Capitol City Crushers uniforms. We played in a tournament in Millbrook this weekend. It was so nice to have a little less humidity! Copeland has a busted lip...poor guy. Copie was chasing Ford around the house(for the first time ever...right...) and Ford slammed the door on Copie's lip. He's a tough guy... We did really well this weekend. Our team is 9 and under, but that age group didn't make so we played in the 10 and under tournament. Boy is there a BIG difference in a year!! We have a great team, we won one, tied one and lost two. But these guys are over a year older that our guys. I'm so proud of them!!!

Hopefully tomorrow I will update with first day of school pics...

Favorite lake pics part one...

So we went to the lake today with our dear friends. Besides losing a ski and getting a little fried we had a super dooper time. David, John Mcf and I all skied, but no pics of those, sorry!! I forgot how bad my back hurts when I ski...what's up with that? I was a little camera happy today b/c I had such precious little subjects. I love the pictures I got! There is just something about natural, wild hair that I appreciate on wee ones.

I pulled Braxton's tooth today. That's just a random comment.

After we got back to the Marina, we unpacked the boat and realized we'd lost a ski somewhere... NICE. So, we went back out to look for it. We didn't find it , but we ended up staying like 2 more hours and swimming. It was just a beautiful, beautiful day...We have wonderful friends. Jason and Lara, you are next!!

Yummy, yummy...I could just eat this little jewel up. Jamie, you can right click and copy these for your blog...
Copeland is a BIG helper with the boat....
