A win, a CWS game, and a little shopping...

Today AW and I slept until 10:15. I haven't slept that late since college. She hasn't EVER slept that late. It felt good!! :-)

After we got going, David graciously allowed me to find an Ann Taylor Loft since everything in the store was 40% off. I LOVE ATL!! I got a few things and then AW and I went into a shoe store to get her some new Crocs. When we left Montgomery, we had a hard time finding her shoes. We only brought flip flops and she now has a blister in between her toes. What SHE wanted to buy was SO different than what mommy wanted to buy. After a fit over Dora and Hello Kitty light up shoes, we finally made it back to the car with some pink Crocs. Easy peasy. Not really.

The Dirtbags played their first game in the single elimination part of the tourney today. They won 11-4 so we get to advance to the second round. It was a great game. Ford's buddy Grayson hit a two run homer over the fence!

After their game, we took off to Roseblatt for another College World Series game. South Carolina vs. Clemson. We stood in line, in the heat...again. Once we were seated, the weather cooled off a bit and we were able to enjoy the game. I forgot to mention what happened at the last CWS game we attended. Copeland thought he could just hop over a huge fence to retrieve a home run ball. A cop saw him and threatened to kick him out of the game! Can you imagine my 9 year old getting escorted out of a baseball game?? Thank goodness he was nice about it. We will probably be heading back to Montgomery sometime tomorrow. I'm not sure where we will stop and spend the night, but we will begin the trip home after our last game. Hopefully, we will play 3 tomorrow and win it all!! Go Dirtbags!!

Dirtbags are 4-2...not too shabby

The Dirtbags finished pool play today with 4 wins and 2 losses. Tomorrow, we will be seeded and begin single elimination. So...we could be through tomorrow night if we lose. But, we aren't going to do that, now are we?? :-)

I don't have a whole lot to report today. I think Copeland erased some pictures off of my memory card. Big surprise. I bought A Dub a wiffle ball bat and ball and she hit all day. The girl loves some ball like her brothers. Copeland is getting to spend the night with the bigger boys at the Village tonight. They were watching a movie on the lawn and he is pumped!

AW is also SO proud of her "work out clothes". That is what she wore today. When she saw this set in Target, she had a fit.

I finally broke down and cut Copeland's hair in the room this morning. It was driving me crazy. It looks soooooo much better! :-) The new look was definitely worth the $15 scissors!!

Day 6...downtown Omaha...

Today, we didn't have games until 4:30, so we took off in search of the pretty part of Omaha. I'll tell ya, I didn't believe there was one...a pretty part. Most of Omaha is down right ugly. The farm lands surrounding the city are beautiful. The city itself is industrial and dirty. We'd been told that the awesome slides in the middle of downtown were a MUST DO...and they were. The other advice we were given, was to buy some parchment paper to stick under our tails to make us go faster. The kids(and adults) took up about an hour on the slides. Fun times. David got airborne a few times, it was fun-ny!!

Next, we went to eat at a place called Spaghetti Works. LOVED it!! The balloon lady visited our table and made balloons for the kids. "No charge," she said, "just tips." HA!

The boys played two games today and are 2-1 for the week so far. We play 3 games tomorrow so Ford is spending the night with us in the hotel so he can get a good night's sleep. I can't share some of the tales he's passed along on my blog, b/c the potty humor would offend the relatives. :-)

The A Dubber was MUCH better today. Maybe b/c she got to sleep until almost 9am??? Copeland continues to shock us with his silliness, but we love him anyway. :-)

David has been a trooper and held his tongue like the Bible tells us to. I, on the other hand, crawled down a man's back yesterday for lighting a cig next to my kids AND cutting in line. Cranky, perhaps??? David did have my back, though. :-)
